SCIENCE
In science this week, Dahl and Blackman Class have been recreating the digestive system! And quite frankly - it was disgusting!
Science in Blackman Class and Dahl Class
This week, with the children in school, we have been learning about Static Electricity. The children learnt how static charges occur and what happens when they are discharged. They then explored how to create their own static charges with a balloon! Great fun was had by all! This same lesson was set in the Year 4 and 5 remote learning for Wednesday afternoon. If your child has accessed this lesson, then please let us know how they got on. And if you have any crazy balloon pictures of your own that you're happy for us to post on here, please send them to us via Facebook messenger.

BLACK HISTORY
As part of Black History month, Year 4 have been learning about Jesse Owens. The children learnt how Jesse was one of the greatest athletes in the history of Olympic sports. The 1936 Olympics were held in Berlin, Germany during the time when Adolf Hitler had power. He expected the Germans to dominate however; Jesse Owens had his own chapter to write in history. Jesse won four gold medals.
For our artwork, we divided a portrait of Jesse into 24 sections and each child had a section to complete. We then put all the pieces back together to make our final piece. We were really impressed with the results.
